This brings back memories. My Dad special ordered a 71 Mach 1 with the 429 ram air manual with a 411 rear-end. I loved that car. He would get on it, and it would glue you to the back of the seat. I thought that was so cool as a kid.

Who did you get in touch with down there, that guy who owned the yard has tons of treasures hidden in that yard, used to buy a good bit of stuff 10 years ago. I thought he had gone put of business!

Great video and effort you guys! 1969 was when this body style debuted. 1971 was the first year of the "tens" in the numbering system. What was the significance? Probably no one alive knows. IH had some weird numbering through the years. The AMC 232 was base model engine option for these trucks. Most folks opted for one of the IH V8's, either 304, 345 or 392. That plastic grille insert was one year only for 1971.

I worked for an International dealership from 1982 to 2021. The 1969-70 pickups were the 1000, 1100, 1200 and 1300. For 1972-73, the model numbers changed to 1010, 1110, 1210 & 1310. Doesn’t really mean anything. Originally, this truck probably had a 304 V8 with the 3 speed column shift. Many were upgraded.

She sure was a stubborn one, but a cool truck for sure. Maybe the next one will just take off for you. But I don't know about that Lincoln, too many trees around it, you will need a good chain saw, though! But I'm sure you can do it. Anyway, the two of you are fun to watch. Change the spark plugs and it would probably fire

You could always put a bump or dent side fe 352,360, or a 390 in the ih truck too and there's several bump side and dent side Ford trucks there

Looks like a 69-71 IH 1100 truck anyway i was thinking the 1100 came out in either 65 or 68-69 the truck is i believe a 71 instead of a 1970 they had several different brands of parts including the motors in them

That ground strap is for static elimination on the radio. In years gone by we used to have to add them to cut down on ignition noise, especially with the cheaper radios and earlier CB units.

I'm guessing there's no spark at the plugs, they could be bridged shut.

Could the tail pipe be clogged and not allowing to breath?

Bring a new set of plugs, sometimes they work wonders, and give each cylinder a squirt of reg motor oil to help your rings give a little better seal.

It still deserves to be saved you could always buy it and swap a IH 304-345,392 in the truck and use it

Did you check for compression in all cylinders? She has quite a gallop there when turning over, maybe stuck valves? If compression is low put some oil in the cylinders. I definitely would be pulling that valve cover. Plugs and wires. You know all this anyway but I thought I would put it out there for you. One last thing she isn't turning fast enough.

The AMC 232 six later morphed into the Jeep 4-liter. Plenty of inexpensive donors available for increased power.

Check too see if your plugs are fowled out. You found many oil cans in the bed.😊
